Elbows are commonly used pipe fittings in plumbing installations, designed for connecting at pipe bends to alter the direction of the pipeline.

A bend is categorized as a reducer when the bend radius is no more than 1.5 times the pipe diameter, and as an elbow when it exceeds 1.5 times the pipe diameter.
