Elbows are commonly used pipe fittings in plumbing installations, designed for connecting at pipe bend locations to alter the direction of the pipeline.

Purpose: To connect two pipes with the same or different nominal bore diameters, allowing the pipeline to make 90°, 45°, 180°, and various degree turns.

A bend is classified as a bend if the bend radius is less than or equal to 1.5 times the pipe diameter; if greater, it is classified as a bend pipe.
