The steel strip surface is lubricated to reduce friction resistance between the steel strips and the packaged goods during packaging, allowing for a tighter pull and a more secure package; the edges of the steel strip are smooth and rounded, preventing hand cuts during packaging and potential damage to the packaged items.

The steel strips are wrapped in burlap, with each package containing 1 or 2 rolls of steel strips (depending on the specific model) and bound with iron rods.

Hot-dip galvanized steel strapping, produced on a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line, undergoes continuous annealing and hot dipping in zinc liquid. The steel plate is heated and cooled rapidly, resulting in lower stamping performance compared to cold-rolled sheets.

Electro-galvanized steel packaging tape retains the same stamping properties as cold-rolled sheets due to its resistance to temperature changes during the electroplating process. The zinc coating lacks a brittle iron-zinc alloy layer, offering good ductility. However, its porous surface, low strength, and susceptibility to scratches make it prone to contamination by dry paint and other pollutants.
