Installation Position of the Guided Wave Radar Level Gauge

The waveguide radar level gauge is a radar level gauge based on the time-domain reflection (TDR) principle. The electromagnetic pulses of the radar level gauge propagate at the speed of light along a steel cable or probe. Upon encountering the surface of the medium being measured, part of the pulses are reflected, forming echoes that return along the same path to the pulse emitting device. The distance between the emitting device and the surface of the medium being measured is proportional to the propagation time of the pulse between them. The liquid level height is then calculated.

The waveguide radar level gauge boasts features such as stability, accuracy, and ease of operation, thus earning widespread acclaim in the market. Before installation, it is crucial to consider the on-site conditions, and the following requirements should be taken into account during the installation process:

Stay as far away from the discharge and intake ports as possible.

2. No wall contact for metal and plastic cans across the entire range.

3. Recommend installation at 1/4 or 1/6 of the bin diameter.

4. Cable probes or rod probes must be positioned at a minimum distance of 30 centimeters from the tank wall.

The radar level gauge probe is approximately 30mm from the bottom of the tank.

6. The probe distance from the tank's internal obstacle shall not be less than 300mm.

7. For waveguide radar level gauges, if the container bottom is conical, the sensor can be installed at the center of the tank's top, allowing for continuous measurement down to one-third of the tank's bottom.

In addition, attention must be given to the sanitation protection and post-maintenance of the guided wave radar level gauge to ensure its normal operation.
