Washed stone is a decorative technique that involves mixing natural river or sea pebbles or gravels with cement in a specific ratio, applying it to the base, leveling it with a load-bearing tool, cleaning the surface adhesive to reveal the original appearance of the stones. Water-washed stone construction process:
1. Clean the Substrate: Thoroughly remove dust, grease, loose mortar, and debris from the surface. If there are uneven areas, flatten the protrusions and fill in the depressions with 1:3 mortar. For oil stains, clean with a 10% lye solution, rinse with clean water, and let it dry.

2. Apply Base Mortar: First, apply a plain cement slurry (mixed with 10% water of 107 adhesive) to the base layer. Then, apply the base mortar in layers and passes. Use a straightedge to level the base mortar and a wooden trowel to roughen it. After the mortar has set, water it for curing.

3. Aggregate Slurry Coating: Apply a layer of plain cement slurry, then spread the aggregate slurry in two coats from bottom to top, making the coating 1mm higher than the completed ground on both sides. Flatten and compact the aggregate slurry layer.

4. Use a brush dipped in water to remove the surface cement slurry, then recompact and smooth it. Repeat the brushing and pressing process 3 to 4 times. Once the surface begins to set, and the stones cannot be brushed off with water, have one person brush the cement slurry with a damp brush and another spray water from a hose 20 cm above the ground. After the surface is clean and stones are removed, rinse the surface with clean water, seal it, and assign a person to water it for maintenance. If cement slurry residue is found on the stone surface after maintenance, use oxalic acid to scrub it clean. Note to dilute and drain the oxalic acid solution promptly into the storm drain; do not let it flow into the green spaces.

Typically, washed stone sizes are around 8mm, with slight variations depending on the type. For instance, washed stone like agate is only about 6mm, while washed stone made from chicken blood stone can reach up to 9mm.
