How to Maintain Your Furniture?

Occasionally, wooden furniture should be cleaned, using a soft cloth or sponge with a mild soap solution for wiping. Once dry, apply furniture wax to restore its luster.

1. Milk Cleaning Method

Wipe a clean rag in expired milk that's not suitable for drinking, then use the same rag to clean tables and other wooden furniture, which works great for removing dirt. Rinse with clean water, suitable for various types of furniture.

2. Tea Water Cleaning Method

Dust-coated furniture can be cleaned by wiping with a cloth dampened with tea leaves residue or by rinsing with cold tea water, which will make the furniture particularly shiny and bright.

3. Beer Cleaning Technique

Pour 1400 milliliters of boiled light beer, add 14 grams of sugar and 28 grams of beeswax, mix thoroughly, and then use a soft cloth to wipe the wood cleaner once the mixture has cooled. This method is suitable for cleaning oak furniture.

4. White Vinegar Cleaning Method

Mix an equal amount of white vinegar with hot water to wipe the surface of furniture, then rub vigorously with a soft cloth. This method is suitable for the maintenance of rosewood furniture and for cleaning other furniture stained with ink.

5. Salt Preservation Method

Salt preserves furniture, making it more durable. To clean and polish copper household items, first mix equal parts of salt, flour, and vinegar into a paste. Apply the paste with a soft cloth, then remove it an hour later with a clean soft cloth and polish. Spraying vinegar and sprinkling salt on copper decorations can act as a polishing agent. First, wipe with a sponge, then wash thoroughly to ensure all salt residue is removed. Lemon slices soaked in salt can remove minor dullness from copper items; rinse clean after wiping.

If your metal outdoor furniture is rusting, mix salt and tamarind powder with enough water to form a paste. Apply it to the rust spots, then leave it in the sun to dry. Once dry, simply wipe it off to remove the rust. Another rust-removing method is to create a paste by mixing lemon juice with salt and apply it to the rusted object. Wipe it clean with a dry, soft cloth.
