Detailed Description:
Antibacterial flooring involves adding a certain amount of antibacterial agent to the flooring material and then processing it into antibacterial flooring. This type of flooring inhibits the reproduction of surface bacteria, thereby achieving long-term cleanliness and safety.
Antimicrobial meaning
Sterilization: The complete destruction of all reproductive forms and spores of microorganisms on an object is called sterilization. There are many sterilization methods, mainly divided into physical and chemical categories. Commonly used methods include: high-temperature and high-pressure sterilization and chemical drug sterilization.
Disinfection: A method that can only kill general pathogenic microorganisms is called disinfection.
Sterilization: The action of killing microorganisms' vegetative cells and reproductive bodies is known as sterilization.
Bacteriostasis: The action of preventing or inhibiting the growth and reproduction of microorganisms is referred to as bacteriostasis. Medications used for bacteriostasis are known as bacteriostatic agents or preservatives.
Antibacterial: The combined effects of inhibiting and killing bacteria are collectively referred to as antibacterial.
Floor Selection
Antibacterial wooden flooring is simply the addition of a certain amount of antibacterial agent to the flooring material, processed to create it. It inhibits the growth of bacteria on the surface, thereby achieving long-term cleanliness and safety. Antibacterial flooring is increasingly gaining consumer attention and preference.
The primary reason is the increasing living standards of people, the growing awareness of health and environmental protection, especially influenced by outbreaks like SARS and avian flu, which have led to a heightened concern and importance placed on home environments by consumers.
Antibacterial wooden floors may contain different antibacterial ingredients. Generally categorized, antibacterial agents can be divided into two major categories: organic and inorganic.
In the wood flooring market, products using inorganic antibacterial agents are more common.
And inorganic antibacterial agents are further categorized into silver ion antibacterial agents, photocatalytic antibacterial agents, and zinc oxide whisker antibacterial agents.
Silver ion antibacterial agents utilize the antibacterial properties of silver by physically adsorbing and ion exchanging, fixing silver ions on the surface of zeolite and other porous materials.
The main component of the photo catalyst antibacterial agent is nano-grade titanium dioxide, which, upon absorbing light, enters a high-energy state and transfers this high energy to the reactants, causing a chemical reaction. This process aims to eliminate airborne bacteria, mold, and dust mites.
Zinc oxide whiskers react with oxygen and moisture in the air to release various antibacterial substances such as oxygen atoms, hydroxyl radicals, and negative oxygen ions under normal conditions. Additionally, zinc ions can react with enzymes in bacteria to kill the bacteria.
These three inorganic antibacterial agents do not have different grades, so when consumers are selecting, they should also consider the overall indicators such as the quality, pricing, and after-sales service of the original brand.
