Expanded Perlite

Perlite is a glassy rock formed from volcanic acidic lava that has been rapidly cooled, named for its pearl-like fracture structure. Perlite ore includes perlite, obsidian, and pitchstone. The difference between them lies in the round arc-shaped cracks formed by condensation in perlite, known as the perlite structure, with a water content of 2~6%; pitchstone has a resinous luster, with a water content of 6~10%; and obsidian has a glassy luster and a conchoidal fracture, with a water content generally less than 2%.

The Xueyin Perlite Factory in Longjiang County is located at the intersection of Qiqihar City and Longjiang County, specializing in the production of expanded perlite and perlite insulation boards. In 2015, the company invested millions to upgrade equipment and expand the factory, adding new projects such as perlite insulation mortar and soilless cultivation perlite for agriculture.
