Qiqihar Perlite

Perlite is a glassy rock formed from rapidly cooled acidic lava of volcanic origin, named for its pearl-like fracture structure. Perlite ore includes perlite, obsidian, and pitchstone. The differences among them are: perlite has circular arc cracks formed by condensation, known as the perlite structure, with a water content of 2~6%; pitchstone has a resinous luster, with a water content of 6~10%; and obsidian has a glassy luster and a conchoidal fracture, with a water content generally less than 2%.

The Xueyin Perlite Factory in Longjiang County is located at the intersection of Qiqihar City and Longjiang County, specializing in the production of expanded perlite and perlite thermal insulation boards.
