What preparations are needed for the long-distance transportation of Wulian Stone?

Stone slabs should be packaged based on factors such as quantity and transportation conditions. Packaging methods mainly include wooden box packaging and straw rope packaging, which are commonly used for long-distance transportation. The slabs should be placed upright with their smooth sides facing each other inside moisture-proof packaging boxes, and wooden boxes must not be made from substandard materials. Iron bands should be added at both ends of each box, and iron corner protectors should be placed on the crossbars. Straw rope packaging has two types: one involves wrapping the slabs with smooth sides facing each other using straw ropes with a diameter greater than 10mm, wrapping them sequentially along the length and width to prevent exposure and ensure secure tying. The other type involves tying the slabs with smooth sides facing each other in a "井" (well) pattern using the same diameter rope, with at least three wraps per tie. After packaging, the slabs should be marked with their identification numbers or names, specifications, and quantities, and corresponding materials for the matching projects should be labeled on each slab according to the drawings. Instructions such as "This Side Up," "Moisture-Proof," and "Handle with Care" must be clearly marked on the packaging boxes and ropes. Adhere to the following transportation and handling regulations: 1. Handle with care, avoiding drops and rolls; when stacking upright, the back edge must touch the ground first. 2. For slabs larger than 0.25m², transport them upright. When using lifting equipment for large products, pad the edges that bear the load. 3. When lifting wooden box-packed products with lifting equipment, it's best to lift one box at a time; when handling straw rope-packed products, do not pull the ropes. 4. Load and stack according to storage requirements, ensuring stability during transportation and prohibiting collisions. Decorative stone requires strict packaging techniques; improper packaging can lead to minor edge damage or, in severe cases, breakage. Poor handling during transportation can increase the number of defective and substandard products, so we must pay attention to this during daily storage.
