Glass steel pipes are lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant non-metallic piping. They are manufactured by layer-by-layer winding glass fiber with a resin matrix onto a rotating mandrel according to process requirements. The wall structure is rational and advanced, fully utilizing the material's properties. It enhances stiffness while meeting the required strength, ensuring product stability and reliability. With its excellent chemical corrosion resistance, lightweight high strength, non-scaling, strong seismic resistance, longer lifespan compared to ordinary steel pipes and cast iron pipes, lower overall cost, quick installation, and safety, they are well-received by users. The application scope of glass steel pipes includes the oil, chemical, water supply and drainage industries. In recent years, the production of glass steel pipes in our country has developed rapidly, with the quantity increasing year by year and the application areas expanding.

Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipe sizes are denoted by inner diameter, ranging from 15mm to 1000mm in increments of 15mm each: 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 80, 100, 150, 200, 250, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000mm.

Fiberglass pipe features:

1. Glass steel pipe materials boast excellent physical properties; their density ranges from 1.8 to 2.2, approximately 1/5 to 1/4 of steel pipes. They are stronger than steel, cast iron, or plastic. The weight of glass steel pipes is generally not more than 1/3 of that of steel pipes of the same specification. They exhibit superior physical and mechanical properties. Additionally, the shrinkage coefficient of glass steel pipes is roughly equivalent to that of steel pipes, and their thermal conductivity is only 0.5‰ of steel pipes, offering excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties.

2. Resistant to chemical corrosion, aging, and boasts a long service life of over 50 years. Suitable for conveying potable water, wastewater, various acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents, among other media.

3. Hydrodynamic properties are one of the key characteristics of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipelines. Good hydrodynamic properties mean less fluid head loss, allowing for the use of smaller pipe diameters or lower-powered conveying pumps, thereby reducing initial pipeline investment, conserving electricity, and lowering operating costs. The surface of GRP is quite smooth, with no cracks or uneven defects that could hinder use on the pipes and fittings. The average surface roughness is ≤0.009, almost qualifying it as a "hydrodynamic smooth pipe." During operation, the surfaces of steel pipes, cast iron pipes, and cement pipes often experience localized corrosion, becoming rougher over time, whereas GRP consistently maintains the smooth surface of new pipes.

4. Low installation and maintenance costs; generally, glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes do not require special anti-corrosion treatment when buried underground; the insulation layer can be thinned, or no additional insulation treatment is needed; the pipes are relatively lightweight, requiring less lifting equipment tonnage, and consume less power. The length of glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes is longer than that of cement pipes and cast iron pipes, resulting in fewer joints, which all contribute to reduced installation and maintenance costs.

5. High design sensitivity with short modification cycles. Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is produced by adding reinforcing fibers to a resin matrix, wrapping them layer by layer around a mandrel according to specific process conditions, and then curing them properly. The tube wall is a layered structure that can adjust the physical and chemical properties of the GFRP pipe by changing the resin system or using different reinforcing materials, to produce pipes of different pressure ratings or with specific performance characteristics to accommodate various media and working conditions. The short modification cycle is a significant feature of fiber-wrapped composite materials, which cannot be matched by isotropic metal tube materials.
