Electronic尺位移Sensor Applications

Position sensors, also known as linear sensors, are linear devices belonging to the metal induction category. Their function is to convert various physical quantities being measured into electrical signals. During the production process, displacement measurement is generally divided into physical dimension measurement and mechanical displacement. Depending on the form of the variable being measured, position sensors can be categorized into analog and digital types. The analog type can be further divided into physical property and structural types. The structural type is more commonly used, including potentiometer-type position sensors, inductive position sensors, synchros, capacitive position sensors, eddy current position sensors, and Hall effect position sensors. A significant advantage of digital position sensors is that they are convenient for directly sending signals into computer systems. These sensors are rapidly developing and their applications are increasingly widespread.

The working principle of the linear sensor is similar to that of a sliding variable resistor, as it is used as a voltage divider. The position sensor presents the actual position measured by a relative output voltage. The following requirements must be met for the operation of this device: 1. If the electronic ruler has been used for a long time and the seal has aged, along with a lot of impurities, and the mixture of water and oil severely affects the brush's contact resistance, this will cause the displayed numbers to keep jumping. At this point, it can be said that the electronic ruler of the linear position sensor is damaged and needs to be replaced.

If the power supply's capacity is small, there will be many situations to consider. Therefore, the power supply needs to have sufficient capacity. Insufficient capacity can result in: the movement of the melt胶 can cause the display of the mold closing electronic gauge to fluctuate, or the movement of the mold closing can cause the display of the injection electronic gauge to fluctuate, leading to significantly large measurement errors. If the driving power supply for the solenoid valve is the same as the power supply for the linear displacement sensor, the above situations are more likely to occur. In severe cases, voltage fluctuations can be measured even with the voltage range of a multimeter. If the issue is not caused by high-frequency interference, static interference, or insufficient neutral quality, it could be due to the power supply's insufficient power.

Frequency interference and static interference may cause the digital display of a linear displacement sensor's electronic ruler to flicker. The signal lines of the electronic ruler must be separated from the high-voltage power lines of the equipment. The electronic ruler must be forcibly grounded using a grounding bracket, and the housing must be in good contact with the ground. Shielded wires should be used for the signal lines, and one end of the electrical box should be grounded to the shield wire. When high-frequency interference occurs, the voltage measured with a multimeter will usually show normal, but the display numbers will keep flickering; static interference presents similar symptoms. To prove whether it is static interference, you can first use a power cord to short-circuit the sealing screw of the electronic ruler to some metal parts on the machine. Once short-circuited, the static interference will be eliminated immediately. However, it is difficult to eliminate high-frequency interference using the above method. Frequency converters and robotic arms often experience high-frequency interference, so you can try stopping the high-frequency converter or robotic arm to verify if it is a high-frequency interference issue.

If the electronic ruler of the linear displacement sensor shows regular fluctuations at a certain point during operation, or fails to display any data, this situation requires checking for any damage to the insulation of the connection wires, as well as regular contact with the machine's housing, which can cause a short circuit to ground.

The voltage supply must be stable; industrial voltage needs to meet ±[%] stability. For instance, if the reference voltage is 10V, it can allow ± fluctuations. Otherwise, it may cause fluctuations in the display. However, if the amplitude of the display fluctuation does not exceed the fluctuation of the voltage, the electronic ruler is functioning normally.

The alignment for linear displacement sensors needs to be excellent, but parallelism can allow ± tolerance, and angle can allow ±12° tolerance. However, if both parallelism and angle tolerances are excessively large, the displayed numbers may fluctuate. In such cases, adjustments to parallelism and angle are necessary.

During the connection process, be sure to pay close attention. The three lines of the electronic ruler must not be connected incorrectly; the power line and output line cannot be swapped. If the above lines are connected incorrectly, there will be a significant linear error, which is difficult to control. The control accuracy will also be poor, and the display may easily exhibit flickering phenomena, etc.
