Dual-color Injection Molding Machine

Now, standard injection molding machines can only produce plastic products in a single color. To achieve a specific color, you simply add the corresponding color powder or masterbatch to the plastic material. With the advancement of technology, a new type of injection molding machine capable of producing mixed-color plastic products has emerged: the two-color mixing injection molding machine. Once a plastic products manufacturer owns such a machine, they can produce mixed-color products using existing molds without the need for new mold creation and without additional equipment. The surface of mixed-color plastic products is aesthetically pleasing and offers a rich variety of colors. The working principle of the two-color mixing injection molding machine is as follows: the clamping mechanism is similar to that of a standard injection molding machine, but it features two sets of mechanisms, two sets of screw barrels, two power systems, and two oil pumps. The injection system is doubled. Both systems share a single nozzle. The two system units inject two different colors of plastic material into the mold simultaneously or alternately, achieving a mixed-color effect on the plastic surface.

Mixed-color molding achieves its effect through the injection molding machine and the molding process. Distinct-color molding is achieved using the injection molding machine and dual-color or multi-color molds (a mold with dual-color or three-color molds). Multi-color injection molding is more complex than single-color molding, and thus has higher production costs. However, it significantly increases the value-added of the plastic parts. Standard plastic parts have little profit margin, primarily yielding processing and labor costs. Competition is fierce, and the shift towards multi-color injection molding is an inevitable trend in industry development, enhancing the value-added space of plastic products.
