Classification of Bentonite

Clay minerals in nature are categorized into several specifications based on the percentage of exchangeable cations in the total particle exchange capacity: Sodium Bentonite, Sodium-Calcium Bentonite, Calcium-Sodium Bentonite, Calcium Bentonite, Magnesium-Calcium Bentonite, Calcium-Magnesium Bentonite, and Lithium Bentonite.

According to the different processing techniques of bentonite, it can also be classified into types such as organic bentonite, inorganic bentonite, and activated white clay, etc.
