High-voltage SMD capacitors, also known as ceramic multilayer chip capacitors. It is a production technique using ceramic powder, with palladium as the noble metal inside, and silver being plated onto the ceramic as an electrode through high-temperature sintering.
The products are divided into two types of ceramic materials: high-frequency NPO (COG) and low-frequency X7R.
The NPO capacitors feature a compact encapsulation size, high temperature coefficient of capacitance, and excellent high-frequency performance. They are used in high-stability oscillator circuits as circuit filtering capacitors. X7R ceramic capacitors are limited to being used as bypass or DC blocking capacitors in circuits operating at common frequencies, or in applications where stability and loss requirements are not stringent. These capacitors are not suitable for use in AC pulse circuits, as they are prone to being punctured by pulse voltages, and therefore, it is not recommended to use them in AC circuits.
High voltage surface mount capacitors are categorized into three types:
A type is the temperature-compensated NPO dielectric:
NP0, also known as COG, features stable electrical performance, largely unaffected by temperature, voltage, or time changes. It belongs to ultra-stable, low-loss capacitor material types, suitable for high-frequency, ultra-high-frequency, and very high-frequency circuits that demand high stability and reliability.
Category II: High Dielectric Constant Type X7R Dielectric
X7R is a strong dielectric material, allowing for the production of capacitors with higher capacitance than NPO dielectrics. These capacitors exhibit stable performance, with minimal significant changes in their unique properties due to variations in temperature and voltage over time. They are classified as stable capacitor materials and are commonly used in DC blocking, coupling, bypass, filtering circuits, and high-frequency applications with high reliability requirements.
Category 3 is semiconductor-type X5R dielectric:
X5R features a higher dielectric constant and is commonly used to produce large-value capacitors with high rated capacity. However, it has lower capacity stability compared to X7R and is more sensitive to temperature and voltage test conditions, mainly used in oscillation, coupling, filtering, and bypass circuits within electronic systems. Advantages: Small package size, stable quality, high insulation performance, and high voltage resistance. Disadvantages: Smaller capacity, currently 100UF, easily punctured by pulse voltage. Performance Parameters: 1. Material: NPO (COG), X7R, X5R, Y5V; 2. Capacity: 0.1PF-100PF-1NF-1UF-100UF; 3. Voltage: 6.3V-100V-1KV-2KV-5KV; 4. Package: 0201-0805-1206-1812-2225. Application Range: Products are widely used in module power supplies, automotive electronics, communication power supplies, LED lighting power supplies, and other fields, with a broad prospect for application development.
