Fire-resistant windows refer to windows, including their frames, that can meet the requirements for fire resistance stability and integrity within a certain time frame. They are necessary when natural lighting and ventilation are required in the outer walls of two buildings where the fire separation distance is insufficient, or between spaces separated by fire walls.

Fire-resistant window classifications:
Fixed Fire Window: A fire window without an opening sash.

Operable fire windows: Fire-resistant windows with operable sashes and equipped with control mechanisms for opening and closing the sashes.

Insulating Fireproof Windows (Type A): Fireproof windows that meet both the requirements of fire resistance integrity and thermal insulation within the specified time.

Non-insulating fire-resistant windows (Class C): Fire-resistant windows that can meet the fire resistance integrity requirements within the specified time. Divided according to fire resistance limit and insulation properties:
Fire-resistant window selection:

Fire-resistant windows are made of steel, available in two grades: Class A (fire resistance of 1.20h) and Class B (fire resistance of 0.90h).

Fire-resistant windows are primarily used in fire walls of high-rise buildings, requiring the use of Class A fire-resistant windows that can close automatically.

When the horizontal distance between windows and doors near both sides of the fire-resistant wall is less than 2 meters, Class B fire-resistant windows should be used.

In addition to residential buildings, kitchens in other structures should be equipped with Class B fire-resistant windows.

One and two-grade fire-resistant building vestibule partition walls should use Class B fire-resistant windows when openings are made for windows.
