Fire-resistant windows refer to windows, including their frames, that can meet the requirements for fire resistance stability and integrity within a specified period. When there is insufficient fire separation between the exterior walls of two buildings, or between spaces separated by fire walls, where natural light and ventilation are needed, fire-resistant windows should be used.

Fireproof Window Categories:
Fixed fire window: A fire window without an opening sash.

Operable fire-resistant windows: Fire-resistant windows with operable sashes and equipped with sash opening/closing control devices.

Insulating Fireproof Windows (Type A): Fire-resistant windows that meet both the integrity and insulating requirements within the specified time.

Non-insulating fire-resistant windows (Class C): Fire-resistant windows that can meet the requirements of fire resistance integrity within a specified time. Divided by fire resistance limits and insulating properties:

Fire-resistant windows are made of steel, available in two types: Class A (resistance to fire for 1.20 hours) and Class B (resistance to fire for 0.90 hours).

Fire-resistant windows are primarily used in fire walls of high-rise buildings, and Class A fire-resistant windows that can close automatically are required.

When the horizontal distance between doors and windows near both sides of the fire-resistant wall is less than 2 meters, Class B fire-resistant windows should be used.

In addition to residential buildings, kitchens in all other structures should use Class B fire-resistant windows.

When windows are opened in the partition walls of doors of buildings with Class One or Two fire resistance ratings, Grade B fire-resistant windows should be used.
