Fire-resistant windows refer to windows that, along with their frames, can meet the requirements for fire resistance stability and integrity within a specified time frame. They are necessary when there is insufficient fire separation between the exterior walls of two buildings, or between spaces separated by fire walls, where natural lighting and ventilation are needed.

Fireproof Window Categories:
Fixed fire window: A fire window without operable sash.

Operable fire windows: Fire-resistant windows with operable sash and equipped with sash opening/closing control devices.

Insulating Fire Windows (Type A): Fire-resistant windows that meet both fire integrity and insulating requirements within a specified time.

Window Selection for Fire Retardancy

Fire-resistant windows are made of steel, available in two types: Class A (with a fire resistance of 1.20 hours) and Class B (with a fire resistance of 0.90 hours).

Fire-resistant windows are primarily used in fire walls of high-rise buildings, requiring the use of Class A fire-resistant windows that can close automatically.

When the horizontal distance between windows and doors near both sides of the fireproof wall is less than 2 meters, Class B fire-resistant windows should be used.

In addition to residential buildings, kitchens in other structures should use Class B fire-resistant windows.

One and two-level fire-resistant building lobby partition walls should have windows fitted with B-grade fire-resistant windows when openings are made.
