Conical gears, also known as bevel gears, are used for power transmission between intersecting shafts. Compared to cylindrical gears, they can alter the direction of transmission. Single-stage gear ratios can reach up to 6, even up to 8.

1. Straight and helical bevel gear designs, manufacturing, and installation are relatively simple, but produce more noise, suitable for low-speed transmission (<5m/s); the power transmission of straight bevel gear can reach 370 kW, with a circumferential speed of 5 meters per second. Helical bevel gear transmission operates smoothly, has higher gear load capacity, but is more difficult to manufacture and is less commonly used.

2. The involute bevel gears feature smooth transmission, low noise, and high load-bearing capacity, suitable for high-speed, heavy-load applications. The involute bevel gear drive operates smoothly, capable of transmitting power up to 3,700 kW and a peripheral speed of over 40 m/s.
