Bevel gear

Conical gears, also known as bevel gears or straight bevel gears, are used for power transmission between intersecting shafts. Compared to cylindrical gears, they can alter the transmission direction. The single-stage transmission ratio can reach up to 6, or even as high as 8.

1. Straight and helical bevel gear designs, manufacturing, and installation are relatively simple, but produce more noise, suitable for low-speed transmission (<5 m/s); the power transmission of straight bevel gears can reach 370 kW with a peripheral speed of 5 meters per second. Helical bevel gear drives operate smoothly with higher load-bearing capacity, but are more difficult to manufacture and less commonly used.

2. The helical bevel gears feature smooth transmission, low noise, and high load-bearing capacity, making them suitable for high-speed, heavy-duty applications. The helical bevel gear transmission operates smoothly, capable of transmitting power up to 3,700 kW and a peripheral speed exceeding 40 m/s.
