Bamboo and wood products require drying and pest control to prevent cracking, shrinkage, and infestation in the usage environment. Traditional drying mainly involves prolonged drying with hot air kilns (ovens). Both bamboo and wood have longitudinal fiber structures, and during traditional heating, the lateral thermal conductivity of the wet material is particularly poor. Reaching the drying requirements in the center takes a long time and is uneven due to the differences in fiber structure and texture, leading to cracking and deformation of the material during the drying process, resulting in a high rate of defective products.
