Crack Depth Detection
Crack depth detection is suitable for ultrasonic testing. Depending on the relationship between the crack depth and the thickness of the component being measured, as well as the testable surface conditions, methods such as single-side flat measurement, double-side oblique measurement, and drilling cross-measurement can be chosen. When there is only one measurable surface at the crack location of the structure, and the estimated crack depth is not greater than half the thickness of the component or 500mm, single-side flat measurement can be used. It is required that both sides of the crack location have clean, flat, and crack-free concrete surfaces for testing, with the width of the testable surfaces on both sides being at least as wide as the estimated crack depth.
