Partial discharge is a pulsed discharge. When high-voltage switchgear and its internal high-voltage equipment (such as PT, CT, busbars, cable joints, etc.) experience partial discharge (PD) due to insulation faults, physical or chemical phenomena such as pulse currents, electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves, light, ozone, and heat often accompany the discharge process. These phenomena can lead to chemical reactions, decomposition, corrosive substances, and damage to the insulation layer or cause insulation aging due to increased temperature, leading to insulation breakdown.

Scheme 1 for Online Partial Discharge Monitoring includes PD_TA type wireless intelligent partial discharge sensors, PD_R type partial discharge data receiver, and PD_SR type online partial discharge monitoring system. This scheme's three products can achieve discharge monitoring, data collection, and data analysis for switchgear. The PD_TA type wireless intelligent partial discharge sensor utilizes ground electrical waves and ultrasonic partial discharge sensors to detect partial discharge signals during the operation of electrical equipment, thereby determining the presence of insulation defects within high-voltage electrical equipment and providing early warnings.
