The Shixia Village in Futian District, Fobao Street, where this event was held, boasts a history of over 600 years and is home to many indigenous residents. After the reform and opening-up, many builders who came to Shenzhen to settle have kept the village's population high. Especially since around 1993, people from You County, Hunan, have been moving to Shixia Village in droves, with most making a living by driving taxis.
