Two-way/ Four-way shuttle racking system consists of shuttle racks, shuttles, and forklifts/lifters. The shuttles, which are small carts that run back and forth on specific tracks of the racks, can elevate or lower their bodies or decks to lift and lower the pallet goods, sequentially placing them back in their designated spots. The trolley is remotely controlled by radio, and the radio-controlled trolley can easily transport tray loads along the tracks; the onboard battery provides continuous operation, primarily relying on the four wheels for forward and backward movement. Multiple tunnels can share a single trolley. The number of trolley cars is determined by a combination of factors including tunnel depth, total cargo volume, and dispatch frequency.
The shuttle racking system, composed of an aisle racking and a shuttle vehicle, achieves high-density semi-automated storage of palletized goods. Depending on the arrangement of the goods' access points, it can be categorized into First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) modes.

Drawbacks: Both ends of the shelves require forklift aisles, resulting in a lower dynamic storage utilization than the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) system. In the LIFO system, forklift aisles are only arranged on one side of the shelves, and goods are only accessed from one side of the aisle.
Advantages: Channels are arranged on only one side, maximizing storage area utilization, making it more suitable for environments with low requirements for the sequence of material in and out.
