    Introduction to Magnetic Coagulation Sedimentation Technology

    Magnetically flocculated sedimentation technology involves the simultaneous addition of a material with a specific gravity into the traditional flocculation and sedimentation process.On 4.8-5.1, the magnetite is combined with pollutants to form a single unit, enhancing the coagulation and flocculation effects. This results in denser and stronger flocs, achieving rapid sedimentation. The sedimentation speed of magnetic flocs can reach over 40 m/h. The magnetite is then recovered and recycled through a high-shear machine and a magnetic seed trap (magnetic separator).

    The entire process has a short downtime, therefore, it includesMost pollutants within TP exhibit a very low likelihood of reverse solubility, and the magnetite and flocculent added to the system have excellent adsorption properties against bacteria, viruses, oil, and various fine particles. As a result, the removal effectiveness of such pollutants is superior to that of traditional processes, particularly in phosphorus removal, which is notably effective. Moreover, due to its high-speed sedimentation performance, it offers numerous advantages over traditional methods, such as faster speed, higher efficiency, smaller footprint, and lower investment. Magnetic coagulation sedimentation technology is a revolutionary new technology.

    Magnetic coagulation sedimentation technology originated in the United States. Historically, its application in water treatment projects was limited due to the unresolved issue of magnetic powder recovery. Now, this technological challenge has been successfully addressed, highlighting the technical and economic advantages of the magnetic coagulation sedimentation process. Its application has expanded globally, gaining wider recognition. Currently, in China, the engineering application of this technology in urban wastewater treatment, recycled water use, river pollution control, high-phosphorus wastewater treatment, paper mill wastewater treatment, and oil field wastewater treatment has gradually taken place, achieving favorable results in all areas.

    Section II: Magnetic Coagulation Sedimentation Process

    Raw wastewater first enters the treatment facility.A grade mixing pond is dosed with coagulant PAC, which is thoroughly mixed with the pond before entering the second-grade mixing pond. Here, it is mixed with recycled magnetic powder and回流污泥 to form flocs. Next, it moves to the third-grade mixing pond, where it reacts with the added flocculant PAM to produce larger floc particles. These particles then rapidly settle in the sedimentation pond, with the treated water either proceeding to the next treatment process or being discharged directly in compliance with standards.

    Sludge settled from the sedimentation pond is partially recycled back through the sludge recirculation pump.The 2-level mixing pool continues to participate in the reaction, while another portion undergoes sludge stripping through a high-shear machine and then enters a magnetic separator for magnetic powder recovery. The recovered magnetic powder is reintroduced into the 2-level mixing pool for further reaction, and the remaining sludge is transferred to the subsequent sludge treatment system. The dosing room-prepared PAC and PAM solutions are transported to various dosing points by a dosing pump. PAC is added to the 1-level mixing pool, while PAM is added to the 3-level mixing pool.
