I. Application

The ZBXN type sludge scraper is used in circular secondary sedimentation tanks of wastewater treatment plants. It scrapes the settled sludge at the bottom of the tank to the openings of a set of sludge suction pipes arranged radially, which are then discharged through a central sludge outlet pipe. This facilitates sludge recycling or concentration/dewatering. Simultaneously, it removes floating debris from the surface of the tank to a grit trap, which is then discharged outside the tank for further processing.

II. Features:

The ZBXN series sludge suction pumps are a new generation of pumps designed based on the digestion and introduction of advanced equipment, featuring the following notable characteristics:

1. Simple structure, lightweight: Featuring a semi-bridge design with a single driving unit, the main beam also serves as a mud channel. Compared to the fully-bridge suction dredges widely used domestically, the weight is significantly reduced.

2. Cost-saving operation and easy maintenance: By using siphon tubes to discharge sludge from the sedimentation tank to the central mud outlet pipe through a non-rotating center mud tank, there are no dynamic seals, thereby preventing short-circuiting of the clarified liquid. This not only avoids waste of energy from the recycle pump but also ensures the concentration of recycle sludge, creating conditions for the normal operation of the biochemical process. Additionally, it eliminates maintenance work associated with dynamic seals.

3. Optional new type of transmission device; the critical component, the reducer, in the drive unit is designed with an advanced shaft-mounted system, eliminating the need for alignment and coupling, offering a compact structure, high efficiency, and light weight.

4. Configurable over-torque protection mechanism; automatically alarms and stops when the torque reaches the set value, ensuring safety and reliability.

Section 3: Structure and Working Process:

The ZBXN series sludge pump, as shown in Figure 1, is a peripheral-driven siphon type. It consists of the main beam serving as the sludge channel, suction pipe system, siphon evacuation system, central sludge tank, central rotating bearing, drive unit, skimming device, collector, and control cabinet.

The main beam is driven by a device located around it, rotating around the central axis of the pond. Sludge deposited at the bottom of the pond is scraped up by scraper blades and collected at each sludge suction point. Due to the liquid level difference, the sludge is transported through the suction points, mud channels, siphon pipes, central mud tank, and central mud discharge pipe to the sludge pit. Each sludge suction pipe has an adjustable regulator to control the flow distribution among the pipes. Simultaneously, the floating debris on the surface of the liquid is concentrated into a constricted area formed by the scraper blade attached to the rotating main beam and the surrounding floating debris baffles, leading to the scraper arm. When the arm reaches the collection bin, the scraper blade on the arm scrapes the debris into the bin.
