(1) Categorized by usage

Pre-stressed steel strand, galvanized steel strand for electrical use, and stainless steel strand, where the pre-stressed steel strand coated with anti-corrosion grease or paraffin and then wrapped with HDPE is known as unbonded pre-stressed steel strand.Pre-stressed steel strand is also available in galvanized or galvanized aluminum alloy wire (nded steel strand).

(2) Categorized by material characteristics

Steel stranded wire, aluminum-clad steel stranded wire, and stainless steel stranded wire.

(3) By Structure Classification

Prestressed steel strand, divided by the number of wires, comes in 7-wire, 2-wire, 3-wire, and 19-wire configurations, with the 7-wire structure being most commonly used.

Galvanized steel strand and aluminum-clad steel strand for electrical use are also categorized by the number of wires, such as 2, 3, 7, 19, 37, etc., with the 7-wire structure being commonly used.

(4) By Surface Coating Classification

Can be categorized into (smooth) steel stranded wire, galvanized steel stranded wire, epoxy-coated steel stranded wire, aluminum-clad steel stranded wire, copper-plated steel stranded wire, and sheathed steel stranded wire, etc.
