As quartz stone is increasingly used in home decoration, more and more people are opting for quartz stone as cabinetry material during kitchen renovations. What are the advantages of quartz stone cabinets over traditional wooden cabinets?
1. Non-hazardous
Wooden cabinet bodies are typically made by bonding wood with chemical adhesives, which contain varying amounts of harmful substances, such as formaldehyde, which we often hear about. In contrast, quartz stone cabinet bodies are produced by high-pressure pressing quartz sand and resin, which do not introduce pollutants into the environment.
2. Molded
The kitchen, being one of the more humid areas in a home, wooden materials are prone to mildew and bacterial growth in damp conditions. Not only does it affect the appearance, but it can also impact the stored food in cabinets. Quartz stone cabinets, however, are free from components that can promote bacterial growth, making mildew impossible. With an absorption rate of just 0.02%, quartz stone is also worry-free from water penetration or immersion, as it is inherently moisture and water-resistant.
3. Fire-resistant and high-temperature resistant
In the kitchen, it goes without saying that fire and high temperatures are concerns. Therefore, fire resistance and high-temperature resistance must be considered. Wooden cabinets are inherently flammable, and contact with high temperatures can easily lead to material degradation, as wood lacks fire-resistant properties. Quartz stone, on the other hand, is naturally fire-resistant and its slabs can withstand temperatures up to 300°C.
4. Clean
For kitchens with heavy smoke, cleaning can be quite a hassle, and it takes a considerable amount of time to get it spotless. Quartz stone surfaces are smooth with no pores or tiny cracks for stains to hide in, making it easy to clean with just water. Stubborn stains can also be removed effortlessly with soap and water.
