Desktop Exhaust Fume Hoods

Fume hoods are essential safety equipment in laboratories, primarily used for expelling indoor waste gases. They are commonly used laboratory devices in situations where harmful gases need to be removed and for cleaning and waste disposal during experiments.
The main function of a fume hood: Primarily, the fume hood serves as an exhaust system. In chemical laboratories, during experiments, harmful gases, odors, as well as flammable, explosive, and corrosive substances may be produced. To ensure user safety and prevent the spread of contaminants from experiments into the lab, a fume hood should be used near the source of pollution. In the past, fume hoods were used sparingly, only in experiments involving harmful and dangerous gases or those that generate large amounts of heat. The fume hood was merely an auxiliary function to the laboratory table.
The purpose of using a fume hood is to exhaust harmful gases produced during experiments, thereby protecting the health of the experimenters. This means that the fume hood must have high safety and operability, which requires it to possess the following functions:
Release Function: The system should be equipped with an institution to dilute harmful gases generated within the fume hood by absorbing external air from outside the cabinet, and then discharge them outdoors.
Non-Backflow Feature: The function should ensure that the exhaust gas is not reversed into the room by the air flow generated by the exhaust fan within the fume hood. To achieve this function, it is preferable to connect a fume hood and an exhaust fan with a single pipe. If a single pipe connection is not feasible, it should only be used for connecting fume hoods in the same layer of the same room. The exhaust fan should be installed as close to the end of the pipe (or at the top of the layer) as possible.
Isolation Feature: A non-sliding glass viewport should be installed in front of the fume hood to separate the interior and exterior of the fume hood.
Supplementary Function: Must have a channel or alternative device to draw in air from outside the fume hood when expelling harmful gases.
Airflow control function: An intake speed is required to prevent harmful gases from escaping.
Heat and corrosion-resistant properties: Some fume hoods need to be equipped with electric furnaces, and some experiments generate a large amount of corrosive acidic and alkaline gases. The worktop, lining, side panels, and the selected water nozzles and gas nozzles of the fume hood should all possess corrosion-resistant functions.
