PP Fume Hood

The fume hood is an essential safety equipment in laboratories, primarily used for expelling indoor waste gases. It is a commonly used lab equipment designed for expelling harmful gases and for cleaning and draining during experiments.
The primary function of a fume hood: The main function of a fume hood is exhaust. In a chemical laboratory, harmful gases, odors, and flammable, explosive, and corrosive substances can be produced during experiments. To ensure user safety and prevent the spread of pollutants from experiments into the laboratory, a fume hood must be used near the source of contamination. In the past, fume hoods were used sparingly, only in experiments involving harmful and dangerous gases or those producing a large amount of heat. The fume hood only serves as an auxiliary function to the experimental table.
The purpose of using a fume hood is to exhaust harmful gases produced during experiments, to protect the health of the experimenters, which means it must have high safety and operability. Therefore, the fume hood should possess the following functions:
Release Function: The system should be equipped with an institution that dilutes harmful gases generated inside the fume hood by absorbing external air from the cabinet, and then discharges them outdoors.
Non-backflow function: The cabinet should have the function of preventing harmful gases from flowing back into the room from the ventilation cabinet due to the air flow generated by the exhaust fan inside the cabinet. To achieve this function, it is better to connect a single ventilation cabinet with a single ventilation fan using a single pipe. For those that cannot be connected with a single pipe, they should only be connected in the same room on the same floor. The ventilation fan should be installed as close to the end of the pipe (or at the top of the floor) as possible.
Isolation Feature: A non-slip glass viewport should be installed in front of the fume hood to separate the interior and exterior of the fume hood.
Supplementary Feature: Must have a channel or alternative device to draw in air from outside the fume hood when expelling harmful gases.
Control Wind Speed Function: An intake speed is required to prevent harmful gases from escaping.
Heat and corrosion-resistant properties: Some fume hoods require the installation of electric furnaces, and some experiments produce a large amount of corrosive acidic and alkaline gases. The countertop, lining, side panels, and selected water nozzles, gas nozzles, etc., of the fume hood should all possess corrosion-resistant capabilities.
