How Much Do You Know About Galvanized Aluminum Zinc Coated Sheet?

Galvanized aluminum sheet (GF), also known as low-aluminum galvanized steel sheet, contains a coating with 5% Al, 95% Zn, and trace rare earth elements. Its main advantages include excellent plasticity and adhesion of the coating, with corrosion resistance remaining unchanged before and after deformation; its atmospheric corrosion resistance is 2 to 3 times that of conventional hot-dip galvanized sheets, and it has good coating and welding properties. Among all galvanized sheets, it exhibits good toughness, corrosion resistance, and formability, comparable to electro-galvanized sheets. This product is primarily used for environments with corrosion and weather resistance and as substrates for coating materials. Galvalume (GL) sheet has a coating structure of Al-Zn alloy, with a composition of 55% Al, 43.3% Zn, and 1.6% Si. It features a smooth surface and excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, up to 2 to 6 times higher than that of similar hot-dip galvanized sheets. It has similar high-temperature corrosion resistance as hot-dip aluminum sheets, can withstand temperatures up to 315 degrees Celsius without discoloration or deformation, and is suitable for long-term use. Its water corrosion resistance is superior to both hot-dip galvanized and hot-dip aluminum sheets, and its soil corrosion resistance is better than that of hot-dip galvanized sheets. Its thermal reflectivity exceeds 75%, which is twice that of conventional galvanized sheets. It has good coating and processing properties and is gradually replacing galvanized sheets in worldwide applications. Specifically, GL is more common in the market. It has good performance in all aspects. GF, on the other hand, is less common in the market (companies like Baosteel and Shougang seem to not have GF, while China Taiwan's Yehhui has it), and its performance is not as good as GL. However, its advantage is that it is cheaper than GL.
