Sedimentation Tank Working Principle
Raw water is dosed with coagulant, mixed in a mixing pond, where the stirring action of the mixer creates a certain velocity gradient, allowing for rapid mixing of the coagulant with the raw water.
The sedimentation tank is divided into two parts: flocculation and sedimentation. In the flocculation tank, flocculating agents are added, and the turbine mixer within the tank can achieve a multi-fold circulation rate, shearing the suspended solids in the water, and reforming larger, easier-to-settle flocs.
The sedimentation tank is divided into a preliminary sedimentation zone and a inclined tube sedimentation zone by baffles. In the preliminary sedimentation zone, easily settled flocs rapidly settle, while those that haven't settled or the finer, less settleable flocs are captured by the inclined tubes. High-quality effluent is collected and discharged through the water collection channel at the top of the tank.
The sedimentation tank has advantages compared to traditional high-efficiency sedimentation tanks:
1. High surface loading: Utilizes sludge recycling and inclined tube sedimentation, significantly higher than traditional sedimentation basins.
2. High Sludge Concentration: The sludge produced by the sedimentation tank has a high solid content, so there is no need to set up a sludge thickening tank.
3. Excellent Water Quality Outflow: Due to the process design of the sedimentation pond, larger flocs are formed, which effectively intercept colloidal substances, thereby significantly reducing pollutants in the water, ensuring a guaranteed outflow quality.
The sedimentation pool inclined tube has been widely used in water supply and drainage projects in recent years and has become a water treatment device. It boasts a wide range of applications, high treatment efficiency, and minimal land occupation. It is suitable for sand removal at the inlet, sedimentation for industrial and domestic water supply, wastewater sedimentation, oil separation, and tailings concentration, etc. It is applicable to both new construction projects and the renovation of existing old pools, all of which can achieve good economic benefits.
