Belt Conveyor

Description
A belt conveyor is a mechanical device that transports materials continuously by friction. It is mainly composed of a frame, conveyor belt, idler roller, drum, tensioning device, and transmission unit. It can form a material conveying process along a certain conveying line, from the initial feeding point to the final unloading point. It is capable of conveying both loose materials and packaged goods. In addition to pure material transportation, it can also be coordinated with the process requirements of industrial production processes, forming a rhythmic assembly line for continuous operations.
The belt conveyor, also known as a tape conveyor, operates based on the frictional transmission principle. It is suitable for conveying low-abrasive materials with a bulk density less than 1.67/t/m³, such as powdery, granular, and small piece materials that are easy to remove, as well as bagged materials like coal, gravel, sand, cement, grain, etc. The belt conveyor can be used within an environmental temperature range of -20℃ to +40℃, with the conveyed material temperature being less than 60℃. The machine length and assembly can be determined according to customer requirements, with transmission options including electric drums or drive units with a belt drive frame.
Application Range
Suitable for horizontal or inclined transport, easy to use, and applicable in various modern industrial enterprises, such as underground tunnels in mines, surface transportation systems, open-pit mining sites, and beneficiation plants. Depending on the conveying process requirements, it can be used individually or in a series with other conveying equipment to form horizontal or inclined conveying systems, catering to the needs of different layout types of production lines.
Working Principle
Composed mainly of two end roller drums and a closed conveyor belt tightly mounted on them. The roller that drives the conveyor belt to rotate is called the drive roller (power roller); the other roller that changes the direction of the conveyor belt's movement is called the redirection roller. The drive roller is driven by an electric motor through a reducer, and the conveyor belt is propelled by the friction between the drive roller and the conveyor belt. The drive roller is generally mounted at the discharge end to increase traction, which is beneficial for pulling. Materials are fed into the feeding end and fall onto the rotating conveyor belt, being transported to the discharge end by the friction of the conveyor belt.
