The insulators are made by gluing porcelain components with upper and lower metal attachments using an adhesive. The porcelain component ends are in contact with the metal attachments, which are padded with elastic washers. The gluing areas of the porcelain components feature structures such as sandblasting, knurling, and grooving, providing mechanical strength, anti-loosening, and anti-torsion properties. The porcelain surfaces are evenly coated with white glaze, and the metal attachments are painted with gray magnetic paint. The main structure of the porcelain components of the insulators includes hollow partition (penetrable) and solid (non-penetrable) structures. The combined adhesive-mounted pillar insulators are generally of the solid non-penetrable structure. This structure reduces the maintenance and testing workload compared to the previous one. The porcelain components of the insulators come in two shapes: with multiple or fewer棱. The multi-ridge shape increases the surface distance, offering better electrical performance than the fewer-ridge shape. All products except for the gradually phased-out external adhesive-mounted pillar insulators are of the multi-ridge shape. The internal adhesive structure, due to the metal attachments being glued into the porcelain holes, increases the insulation distance and improves electrical performance, while also reducing the space required for installation. However, as internal adhesive is not beneficial for enhancing mechanical strength, insulators requiring higher mechanical strength should be made using combined adhesive mounting (i.e., the upper attachments use internal adhesive, and the lower attachments use external adhesive).
