HBW Counterflow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower


I. Design Concept



The HBW reverse flow closed-loop cooling towers utilize mature induced draft design. Jiangsu Hua Tower employs two design types: the reverse flow tower with air intake at the bottom of the tower and the reverse flow tower with air intake at the middle of the tower. The reverse flow design increases the temperature difference between the recirculating spray water and the process hot fluid inside the pipes, thereby enhancing cooling efficiency and reducing the overall design cost. It features a small footprint, compact scaling, and outstanding anti-freezing performance.


Section 2: Working Principle



The working fluid (pure water or other liquid) circulates through the coil in the closed cooling tower, with its heat dissipating into the water flowing through the coil. Simultaneously, air outside the unit enters from the bottom inlet, crossing the water flow direction and flowing against the coil. A small portion of the water evaporates, absorbing heat, and the warm, moist air is exhausted into the atmosphere by the fan at the top of the cooling tower. The remaining water falls into the bottom sump and is recirculated back to the water distribution system by a pump, then sprayed back onto the coil after pre-cooling through the packing.

The flow rate range per unit is from 1.6L/s to 138.8L/s, particularly suitable for environmental protection fields such as sludge drying, solid waste treatment, and wastewater treatment.
