Product Description:

The ASUS geogrid is a meshed cell structure formed by a wide belt of high-intensity HDPE or PP copolymer material, which is焊接 or riveted together. It is flexible, can be folded for transportation, and expands into use, filling with soil, stone, or concrete to create a structure with strong lateral restraint and high rigidity. It can be used as a sub-base to increase the bearing capacity of soft foundations, laid on slopes to form slope protection structures, and also used to construct retaining structures, etc.

The conventional methods for treating subgrades in engineering are self-explanatory, aimed at enhancing the shear and frictional resistance of foundation materials, and reducing or delaying their movement under pressure or vibration. Consequently, there are numerous stringent requirements for materials in engineering. If the required materials are not available locally, they must be purchased externally, with the cost of materials and transportation accounting for a significant portion of the overall engineering costs.

Using geogrids allows for on-site or nearby sourcing of materials, even utilizing materials that are typically unusable under normal circumstances, significantly reducing material procurement and transportation costs. Why is this? The geogrid loading condition illustration shows that under concentrated loads, the actively loaded area still transmits the force to the transition zone. However, due to the lateral restraint of the geogrid walls, the reactive forces from adjacent cells, and the lateral resistance formed by the friction between the fill material and the geogrid walls, the tendency for lateral movement in the transition and passive zones is suppressed, thereby enhancing the bearing capacity of the subgrade. Tests have shown that under the constraints of the geogrid, the apparent cohesion of medium-density sand can increase by several tens of times. It is evident that by increasing the shear resistance of subgrade materials or by inhibiting the movement of the three regions, the bearing capacity of the foundation can be improved. This is the principle of the geogrid's constraint.
