I. Project Overview:
Cangzhou Bohai New Area Baan Water Conservancy Co., Ltd. plans to construct a 100,000 tons/day seawater desalination project in the Bohai New Area. On their behalf, our company has undertaken the compaction construction work for the site. The project is located south of Dongshu Port Road in the Bohai New Area and north of the Handan-Huanghua Railway. The site is currently an empty area recently filled in, with significant terrain undulations. Our company has developed three plans for this project, ultimately deciding to use a construction method of artificial groundwater reduction combined with layered multiple compaction to reinforce the site.

With the full effort of our company, meticulously designed and scientifically planned, the Cangzhou Seawater Desalination Project is on schedule to commence.
To ensure the accuracy of the entire project data and in order to formulate a first-hand, high-confidence construction plan on a macro level, our company has dispatched an exploration team to conduct further groundwater exploration at the site. The results indicate that below the ground surface at -2 meters, the conditions are entirely subaqueous.Tidal flow seawaterHigh NO₃ (nitrate) content, strong corrosiveness。
The original terrain of the project site is characterized by a high water content in the soil and extensive silt layers, with the water content in backfill soil above -5 meters reaching up to 50%. Walking on the site would result in sinking, and compaction work on such soil is nearly impossible.
With the support of the company's technical and engineering departments, on June 3, 2015, the first phase involved the deployment of four excavators to completely remove the surface silt layer.
To withstand the seawater backflow during the construction of the stop project, it is first necessary to reinforce the coastal shoreline within the construction site. If seawater backflow occurs, the previous efforts will be in vain.
The project owner and General Manager Yang Jiande inspected the construction site, deeply exchanging opinions on the project's construction.
The intensive site precipitation process begins. The entire site employs a well-tube precipitation construction technique, dividing the site into Zones 1-10. Zones with higher moisture content implement the initial precipitation measures. With the rainy season of June and July approaching, measures for rainfall drainage are pre-planned in the design scheme.
All well pipes within the site have been installed, and the dewatering process is proceeding as planned.
The ramming construction has officially commenced and will be carried out simultaneously with the precipitation process. Ramming while precipitating, the moisture in the soil is compacted and extruded into the well pipe, and then the water is pumped out to the sea using a pump.
Our company's construction project for the seawater desalination project in Bohai New Area is nearly at the halfway mark. The project is surrounded by three sides of the sea, with seawater detected at depths of -2 meters and above. The backfill soil above -5 meters has a moisture content of over 50%. There's also an approximately 5,000 square meter mudflats area. The client requires the soil bearing capacity above -5 meters to be at least 140kPa. The total construction period is 70 days, which poses a significant challenge given the short timeframe. Through the joint efforts of our team, we have overcome the difficulty of compaction on soil with high moisture content. Now, the overall project progress has reached 50%. We believe that there are more solutions than challenges, and we are committed to completing this project beautifully.
The Bohai New Area seawater desalination foundation project has been successfully completed. It has been inspected by a first-hand testing unit and a quality supervision station, meeting the construction standards of the owner completely.
