Mechanical Filter

Operating Principle and Construction
Mechanical filters utilize one or more filtration media under a certain pressure to pass the feedstock through the medium, removing impurities to achieve the purpose of filtration. The filling materials commonly used inside are: quartz sand, anthracite coal, granular porous ceramic, manganese sand, etc. Users can choose the appropriate materials based on actual conditions.
Mechanical filters primarily utilize packing material to reduce water turbidity, retaining suspended particles, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chlorine odor and taste, as well as certain heavy metal ions from the water. This is one of the traditional water treatment methods that purify the incoming water.

Features
1. Cost-effective equipment, low operating costs, and easy management
2. The filter media can be reused multiple times after backwashing, offering a long lifespan.
3. Excellent filtration performance with minimal footprint

Application Range
Mechanical filtration is widely used in the water treatment process, primarily for turbidity removal in water supply treatment, as well as for the preliminary pretreatment of reverse osmosis and ion exchange softening desalination systems. It can also be used for sediment removal from surface water and groundwater. The incoming water turbidity requirement is less than 20 degrees, with the outgoing water turbidity reaching below 3 degrees.
