The flotation equipment is primarily used for the separation and removal of finely suspended particles with densities close to water. The flotation process involves the use of dissolved air in water generated by the aeration system, which is rapidly depressurized to produce a large number of fine bubbles. These bubbles adhere to the surface of the flocs formed in the water, creating a suspended matter with an overall density less than 1g/m³. This matter is then separated from the liquid by buoyancy, rising to the water surface. The main design parameters of the flotation process include residence time, flocculation time, surface loading rate, recirculation ratio, and dissolved air pressure. According to the required treatment effect, the dissolved air pressure and recirculation ratio can be adjusted, effectively reducing operational and maintenance costs. Moreover, the flotation process can address issues that sedimentation methods cannot, and due to the shorter residence time, the equipment cost of the flotation pond is also lower than that of the sedimentation pond, yet achieving good treatment results.
