Cast iron radiators offer a long service life, are affordably priced, have thick walls for extended heat retention, and corrode slower than low-carbon steel radiators, aluminum radiators, and water tank radiators. Due to their needle-like corrosion pattern, rather than chunky corrosion, rust is less likely to detach from the body, and oxygen cannot easily penetrate to form deep surface corrosion, thus their lifespan is approximately 25 to 30 years. When purchasing cast iron radiators, be mindful of the following issues: One: Ensure the type standard of the cast iron radiators meets the requirements, including the height, working pressure, heat output, and center distance. The working pressure must comply with the requirements, along with a qualified certificate for matching products. Two: Inspect for sand holes inside the radiator, unevenness on the mating surface, misalignment, cracks, and inconsistent spacing between the top and bottom openings. For column-winged radiators, check for any missing wing sections, and ensure the fins are not loose or distorted. Three: Inspect for any damage to the electrostatic powder coating on the radiators. Rust-proof paint or silver powder chipping can make the radiators more susceptible to rust, which is difficult to protect against later on. If any coating has fallen off, contact the manufacturer or distributor for a replacement.
