Concept Introduction 

Polyethylene (PE) is a polymer formed by the polymerization of ethylene. The product has a history of about 60 years since its development. The global production of polyethylene ranks first among the five major general-purpose resins. 1.PE Plastic PowderNon-toxic, odorless, high whiteness, and high hardness; high molecular weight, free of oligomers, low thermal weight loss, and high thermal stability; excellent lubricity and dispersibility, enhancing the brightness and processing properties of the product; improved wettability and compatibility between pigments and resins, with no migration or precipitation.


Main Application 

Applied Film

Low-density polyethylene is widely used as packaging material for various foods, clothing, and industrial products, as well as agricultural films. It can also be processed into composite films via extrusion for heavy-duty packaging. Since 1975, high-density polyethylene film has also been developed, characterized by its high strength, resistance to low temperatures, moisture-proof properties, and excellent printability and workability. Moreover, polyethylene coatings can be extruded onto paper, aluminum foil, or other plastic films to produce high molecular weight composite materials.

Hollow products

High-density polyethylene has high strength and is suitable for hollow products such as milk bottles and detergent bottles.

Tube sheet

Extrusion can produce polyethylene pipes, with high-density polyethylene pipes offering higher strength, suitable for underground installation; extruded sheets can be further processed; high-density polyethylene can also be made into low-foam plastics using foam extrusion and foam injection methods, for use as deck boards and building materials; protective sleeves (e.g., cable sheaths).

Fiber

Polyester, known as "Y纶" in China, is generally made from low-pressure polyethylene and spun into synthetic fibers. It is primarily used in the production of fishing nets and ropes, or spun into short fibers for use as batting, and can also be employed in industrial acid and alkali-resistant fabrics.

Developed ultra-high-strength polyethylene fibers (strength up to 3-4 GPa), suitable for bulletproof vests, composite materials for automotive and marine operations.

Miscellaneous goods

Products produced by injection molding include daily necessities, artificial flowers, containers, small vessels, parts for bicycles and tractors; refrigerator containers, storage containers, household kitchenware, sealed lids, etc.; high-density polyethylene is used in the manufacturing of structural components.


  Cautionary Notes

As of October 27, 2017, based on the preliminary compilation of the carcinogen list published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization, polyethylene is listed as a Category 3 carcinogen.
