Grinding wheels must be inspected before use.The megohmmeter measures the insulation resistance above 500 volts, with a value not less than0.5Megaohms. 

2. Prior to use, the parts of the grinding wheel machine should be thoroughly inspected for any damage or cracks due to transportation, and check for loose fasteners. Any issues should be repaired and tightened. Pay special attention to cracks in the grinding wheel; a light tap with a wooden mallet should produce a clear, crisp sound before use. 

3. Before using the grinding wheel machine, first manually rotate the shaft extension and observe if the movement is smooth and light. Listen closely for any rubbing or grinding noises. 

4. The rotation direction of grinding wheels and fans should match the rotation direction indicator.

Polishing is a process carried out in the foundry for casting parts. Regarding the polishing machine(Sandpaper Machine), it should be selected based on appropriate ease of operation, efficiency, labor and abrasive wheel savings, low labor intensity, long machine lifespan, and good economic benefits. The choice of machine type should be based on the size and geometric shape of the casting. Generally, small pieces are processed using fixed-type sandpaper machines, while large pieces are processed with suspended sandpaper machines. The casting remains stationary while the suspended sandpaper machine moves within a suitable radius, or a portable pneumatic or electric small sandpaper grinder can be used, which can grind any part. Although convenient, it is not very efficient, consumes more small sandpaper, has high labor intensity, and high costs. Handcart-type sandpaper machines are more suitable for medium-sized castings for planing or cutting off the excess sprues. Simple handcart-type sandpaper machines can be self-made in large-scale foundries, are easy to use, provide appropriate results, and their outer contour dimensions can be adjusted according to the casting.
