The principle of ISE (ion-selective electrode), a type of electrochemical sensor that uses membrane potential to measure the activity or concentration of ions in a solution. When it comes into contact with a solution containing fluoride (chloride) ions, a membrane potential directly related to the ion activity is generated at the interface between its sensitive membrane and the solution.
