This instrument is a multi-layered bucket rain gauge sensor, its performance conforms to the national standard GB/T11832-2002 "Bucket Rain Gauge" and the China Meteorological Administration's "Guide to Meteorological Instruments and Observation Methods" (6th Edition) as well as relevant requirements.
This instrument employs two invention patents (Patent Nos.: ZL201010112118.5; 201310294147.1): a bidirectional flip plate device installed above the weighing hopper and a graded controlled-release funnel designed for smoothing rainfall intensity, effectively enhancing the quality of precipitation data observation.
This instrument, when connected to a data collector or computer, is suitable for various types of weather stations, hydrological stations, and rainfall observation stations for precisely measuring the start and stop times of precipitation, the cumulative rainfall amount, and the intensity of precipitation.
2 Performance Features
Compared to other types of rain gauge sensors, this model offers the following advantages:
2.1 Post-implementation of the aforementioned two invention technologies, this instrument's system error can be reduced to a leading level of ≤±1%, with enhanced stability and reliability, and a more simplified method for on-site calibration instrument error measurement.
2.2 The core frame of this instrument is a monolithic cast metal bracket, featuring good repeatability and stability in disassembly and assembly.
2.3 The capacity adjustment screw of this instrument's flip bucket is designed as a "fine thread," allowing for more precise capacity adjustment.
2.4 This instrument features two permanent magnets installed on the counting hopper and is equipped with two corresponding reed switches, enhancing the reliability of signal transmission.
