JQ200 Rain Gauge 1. Overview
![]()
This rain gauge is a manual rainfall gauge with a resolution of 1mm. Its collecting component is installed outdoors, while the storage bottle is placed indoors. It is used for manual observation of precipitation and can conveniently be used for heavy rain, downpour observations, and as a warning for potential flash floods or landslides.
2. Composition and Working Principle
This rain gauge is composed of a standard 200mm diameter collector (1), a filter mesh (2), a stainless steel outer cylinder (3), a stainless steel mounting bracket assembly (4), a drain pipe (5), a drain pipe clip (6), a storage bottle (7), and a top with a level bubble (8) (see attached Figure 1).
The rain collector component is installed outdoors or on the roof, while the water storage bottle is placed indoors. During rainfall, the collected rainwater passes through a filter and into the storage bottle via a引流管. The storage bottle has a capacity of 200mm of rainfall, with graduation marks for every 1mm of rainfall, making it convenient for manual rainfall observation and warnings of flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rains. After each rainfall, simply pour out the water from the storage bottle and reinsert the引流管 for the next observation of the rainfall process.
The rain gauge features a collector and filter made from imported high-strength, radiation-resistant plastic alloy, the storage bottle is crafted from high-strength PC material, and the outer casing and supporting fasteners are all made of stainless steel. The instrument is aesthetically pleasing, sturdy, and durable.
