The GC type boiler feed pump is a horizontal single-suction multi-stage segmented centrifugal pump, primarily used for boiler feed water, hence also known as a boiler feed pump. This series of boiler feed pumps is suitable for conveying clear water or other non-corrosive liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water at temperatures below 110°C, and is widely used in industrial and mining enterprises, as well as for urban domestic water supply.
II. Product Features:
The GC type pump is a multi-stage segmented design. The models 1-1/2GC-4GC have their inlets and outlets located at the inlet and outlet sections, respectively, both vertically upwards. The head lift can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of pump stages as needed. The assembly quality of the pump greatly affects its performance, especially the relative positions of the impellers' outlets and the guide vanes' inlets. The center of each impeller's outlet must align with the center of the guide vane. Any deviation will reduce the flow rate, lower the head lift, and decrease efficiency. Attention must be paid during maintenance and assembly, and any deviation must be adjusted.
The main components of the GC type boiler feed pump include the shaft, shaft sleeve, inlet section, impeller, guide vanes, sealing ring, middle section, outlet section, balancing ring, balancing disc, and tail cover.
The inlet section, middle section, outlet section, and tail cover are all made of cast iron, together forming the pump's working chamber.
The impeller is made of cast iron, featuring blades. The liquid enters unidirectionally along the axial side. Due to unequal pressure before and after the impeller, an axial force must exist, which is borne by the balancing disk. The impeller undergoes static balancing tests during manufacturing.
The shaft is made of carbon steel, fitted with a impeller in the middle, and secured to the shaft with keys, shaft sleeves, and sleeve nuts. One end of the shaft is equipped with a coupling component, directly connected to the motor. When viewed in the direction of rotation, the pump shaft rotates in the forward feed needle direction.
The sealing rings are made of cast iron, designed to prevent high-pressure water from leaking back into the inlet section of the pump. They are individually fixed between the inlet and mid-sections and are replaceable wear parts.
The balancing ring is made of cast iron and fixed on the discharge section, together with the balancing disc, it forms the balancing mechanism.
The balancing disk is made of wear-resistant cast iron, mounted on the shaft and positioned between the outlet section and the tail cover, to balance the axial forces.
The shaft sleeve is made of cast iron, located between the two stuffing boxes, serving to fix the impeller and protect the pump shaft. It is a wearing part, which can be replaced with spare parts after wear.
Bearings are single-row deep groove ball bearings, lubricated with calcium-based grease.
The stuffing seal is composed of an inlet section and stuffing chamber on the tail cover, stuffing gland, stuffing ring, and packing materials. A small amount of high-pressure water flows into the stuffing chamber to serve as a water seal. The tightness of the packing must be appropriate; it should not be too tight or too loose, with the standard being that the liquid should seep out drop by drop. If the packing is too tight, the shaft sleeve may overheat and consume power. If the packing is too loose, the pump efficiency will decrease due to liquid loss.
