How to deal with concrete surface sanding? It seems that many road construction workers and factory plant workers have encountered similar issues. Due to the long-term use of concrete pavements, it's inevitable that the surface will peel and sand. The reasons are complex; some say it's due to uneven vibration during the initial stage, while others claim it's because the cement used during the initial stage did not meet the required grade.

Since this has already occurred, wallowing in the past won't help. Therefore, without delving into the reasons, we must address the current sanding and peeling issues with a repair project, reviving the concrete roadways.

Inspection: Knocking on the road surface with a tool to check for sanding, a step often overlooked in road construction projects. The main purpose is to detect sanding and peeling, and to inspect if the subgrade is loose.

The type of pavement I'm dealing with isn't as soft, and the sanding and peeling issues are generally mild, but they do affect the usability and aesthetics of the pavement, so I need to address it.

Sweeping: Use a brush and a fine bristle broom to clean the road surface thoroughly, removing surface debris such as dust and peeling materials to the area outside of the construction site.

Ensure the construction area is free of any visible stones and dust.

Scouring: First, use large-scale high-pressure water to rinse the area, followed by detailed cleaning with a portable spray gun to ensure the road is free of any visible particles and dust.

A more meticulous approach ensures the longevity and stability of road repairs; don't miss any detail!

Infiltration: This step is crucial!!

Firstly, use a fine bristle broom to sweep away all visible standing water from the construction area. Subsequently, allow the pavement to soak for about 20 minutes. The purpose is to saturate the sub-base of the pavement, infusing it with vitality.

Mix: Pour the repair material into the mixing drum, add 4kg of water (16%) per bag, and use a hand-held drill mixer to maintain a mix for over 3 minutes to ensure the repair material is fully and evenly mixed.

Spread: Simply pour the well-mixed repair material onto the working surface, then rapidly spread it using a large trowel. Follow with a quick smoothing process using a small putty spatula to ensure the road surface remains flat. The beauty of the road surface largely depends on this step, so it's essential to perform thorough smoothing.

Traffic Release: The road will be open for traffic two hours after paving is completed. Proper signage must be in place, and pedestrians are strictly prohibited during this time.
