WEDM, also known as Wire Electrical Discharge Machining, is a CNC machining center that uses continuously moving fine metal wire (typically copper wire, known as electrode wire) as the electrode to discharge pulse sparks onto the workpiece, generating temperatures above 6000 degrees Celsius, and erodes the metal to shape the workpiece. The principle of WEDM is the continuous discharge phenomenon that removes metal due to the existing gap between the on-line electrode and the workpiece.
