The principle of chromaticity measurement is as follows: the light source end of the sensor emits initial light, which passes through the medium. The substance to be measured in the medium absorbs the light, causing the initial light intensity to attenuate. This attenuation corresponds to the chromaticity value or chromaticity change of the medium.
Color changes in the medium cause variations in light absorption, which are then converted into current signals and sent to the controller. After processing, the chromaticity values are displayed on the controller's screen, with various units of measurement available, such as APHA/Hazen, ASTM, Saybolt, Pt-Co, or other chromaticity units. The measured chromaticity values can also be input into PLC or DCS via 4 ~ 20 mA signals, Profibus PA, or FOUNDATION Fieldbus. Users can also view the current measurement results on the controller's screen.
